Members' perspectives of good governance practice of Thailand's credit union cooperatives

Purpose This study explores the awareness (AWN) levels of good governance amongst Thai credit union cooperatives' (CUCs) members and factors hindering practice in CUCs. Design/methodology/approach used a survey questionnaire from 629 36 selected CUCs Thailand. analysed determinants AWN CUCs' using ordered probit model. The also employs OLS estimation to investigate practices. Findings shows that different CUC types sizes have AWN. Members' characteristics, experiences, perceptions significantly influence members' issues. findings suggest lack morality, transparency, participation, responsibility accountability are key obstacles hinder practices Originality/value is first attempts assess level types. research identifies based on evaluations. study's provide important reference implications for policy makers board managers enhance performance, thus increase income living standard long term.
